Open Badges

Open Badges is the 1EdTech standard for portable, verifiable digital credentials. A badge carries the achievement it represents, the issuer that awarded it, and the claim about the recipient, signed so that anyone receiving it can verify authenticity without contacting the issuing system. Open Badges 3.0 builds on the W3C Verifiable Credentials data model, and was approved as a final standard in June 2024.
