About

Connecting global edtech standards with Korea's edtech ecosystem

1EdTech Korea is a regional hub that helps educational institutions and edtech companies in Korea understand global 1EdTech standards and apply them in practice.

Through Korean-language guidance grounded in the official English documents, information and training for putting standards to work, and collaboration with communities at home and abroad, we help Korea's edtech ecosystem grow together with global standards.

Mission

Better learning and teaching through edtech standards

When education platforms, learning tools and educational data connect in a secure and consistent way based on standards, institutions can choose technology more flexibly and learners get a better educational experience.

1EdTech Korea connects the open interoperability standards of 1EdTech to educational institutions, edtech companies and policy work in Korea. We provide the information and collaboration opportunities needed at every stage, from understanding a standard in Korean to reviewing how it would be adopted and applied.

We neither replace the original specifications nor create standards of our own. Working from the official English documents maintained by 1EdTech Global, we provide Korean-language guidance and adoption information, and help experience and requirements from Korea reach the global standards community.

1EdTech Global and 1EdTech Korea

A partnership between global standards and Korean classrooms

1EdTech Consortium is a non-profit member-based standards organization that develops open interoperability standards for edtech. It maintains international standards and conformance programs so that education platforms, learning tools, student information systems and assessment systems can connect and exchange data through common specifications.

1EdTech Korea helps organizations understand and use these global edtech standards in Korean learning and teaching environments. We publish Korean-language content and adoption information, and run a regional community where institutions, companies and experts can take part in standards-based collaboration.

The authoritative version of each standard is the English document published by 1EdTech Global. Korean-language content from 1EdTech Korea is guidance material that supports understanding and adoption reviews in Korea, and every page presents the official source alongside it.

What we do

Edtech standards guidance

We present the official gateways of major 1EdTech standards — including LTI, OneRoster, QTI, Open Badges, CASE, CLR and Caliper Analytics — in Korean, with core summaries and adoption information written for readers in Korea.

Every piece of Korean-language content carries the official English document, its source, the date it was last checked and related links.

Support for applying standards

We provide information and learning opportunities for every organization, from those reviewing a standard for the first time to those applying it in live products and services.

Through seminars, workshops, technical material and adoption cases, we help organizations understand what a standard is for and how it is used, and review an adoption path that suits their environment.

Community collaboration

We build a foundation where educational institutions, edtech companies, public agencies and experts can share experience and open questions around standards.

We point organizations to the membership path that matches their situation and goals, and help adoption cases and expertise from Korea accumulate and spread within the community.

Global connection

We connect 1EdTech Global with educational institutions and edtech companies in Korea.

So that needs, adoption experience and proposals arising in Korea carry into discussions in the global community, we take part in international events, panels, working groups and joint activities.

Co-Labs joint research and validation

Co-Labs is a joint initiative of 1EdTech Global and 1EdTech Korea for research, development, and real-world validation. We apply EdTech standards and AI technologies in live environments to see how they work in practice.

Results — including the Learning Data Dictionary and the CASE Repository — are handed to institutions and companies in Korea in a usable form, and what we learn along the way goes back to the community.

Insights and events

We gather and publish edtech standards trends, policy changes and adoption cases from Korea and abroad.

Through seminars, workshops, forums and exhibitions, we create occasions where the people who understand standards and the organizations that apply them can meet.

Three principles for connecting standards

Connections you can rely on

Trusted

Guidance about a standard has to rest on an accurate source and the official document.

1EdTech Korea presents its Korean-language content together with the source, a link to the official document and verification details, and gives clear information about standards adoption and conformance certification.

An entry point open to everyone

Inclusive

Language, the size of an organization and differences in experience with standards should never stand in the way of taking part.

A Korean-language gateway, step-by-step guidance and a range of participation paths let organizations new to standards work through what they need one step at a time.

An ecosystem that can grow

Scalable

One standards-based connection should make the next one easier.

Rather than repeating a separate integration for every system, we use reusable standards and common specifications to build an edtech ecosystem that institutions and companies can keep extending.

Organization and operations

A non-profit built together by members and partners

1EdTech Korea is going through the process of establishing a non-profit incorporated association, with the purpose of spreading 1EdTech standards in Korea and supporting their adoption.

We applied for incorporation in April 2026. While that process is under way and through early operations, the secretariat and participating organizations lead the work on Korean-language standards content, the member community and international collaboration.

Once incorporation is complete, the organization will be run by its board and secretariat, forming committees and working groups by field as needed so that member organizations and experts can take part in its programs.

Educational institutions, edtech companies, public agencies, non-profits and individual experts can join the work of 1EdTech Korea through the membership or collaboration path that fits their own goals.
